Besides surfing, Ward has also pursued a career in modeling and has been featured in publications like Teen Vogue and Stab Magazine. Growing up in Orange County, California, she started surfing at around age 10 before eventually making a mark on the competitive circuit.
As part of her philanthropic efforts, Ward donated the winnings from her division victory at the Newport Classic surf contest to support the Orange County Rescue Mission shelter Village of Hope. She is the daughter of model Jacqueline Miller and surfer Chris Ward.
