Maheen Khan is a renowned fashion designer who was born on May 19, 1945, in Karachi, Pakistan. She has gained recognition for her work and has been referred to as the “Coco Chanel of the East.” Khan’s career took off in 1972 when she began working as a designer in the fashion industry.
Throughout her career, Khan has designed for notable labels such as The Embroidery House, Maheen, and Gulabo. Her expertise in embroidery led to her work being featured in prominent productions like the film Snow White and the Huntsman and the TV series The Jewel in the Crown.
In addition to her design work, Khan also served as CEO of Fashion Pakistan Week. In recognition of her contributions to the fashion industry, she was honored with the Silver Shield from the Government of Pakistan in 2014.
Khan’s family background includes parents Zahra and Mirza Abbas; she is one of four sisters.
