About Maggie Stiefvater
Maggie Stiefvater is a Young Adult author known for her work in the fantasy fiction genre. She was born on November 18, 1981, in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Stiefvater’s first novel “Lament” was published in 2008 as part of the “Faerie novels” trilogy which also includes “Ballad” (2009) and “Requiem” (2013).
Before she became an author, Stiefvater graduated from Mary Washington College with a degree in history. During her college years, she formed a Celtic music band called Ballynoola and competed as a bagpipe player. Additionally, she pursued work as a portrait artist.
Stiefvater currently resides with her husband and two children in Virginia.
