About Maggie Jones
Maggie Jones (born June 21, 1934 in London, England) was a British television actress known for her role as Blanche Hunt in over 800 episodes of the popular soap opera Coronation Street. Her career included over 50 different acting roles, including playing Smither in multiple episodes of The Forsyte Saga in 1967.
Prior to her television success, Jones trained at the renowned Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and made her London stage debut during the 1950s. She also appeared for two years as Polly Barraclough in the television series Sam.
Jones was married to John Oliver Stansfield from 1971 until his death in 1999. Following an injury, she experienced declining health
