About Magda Szubanski
Magda Szubanski, born on April 12, 1961 in Liverpool, England, is a well-regarded comedian known for her role as Sharon Strzelecki in the situational comedy Kath & Kim. Starting her career writing and performing sketch comedy, she gained prominence after appearing in the films Babe and Babe: Pig in the City as Esme Hoggett. Additionally, she created the Dogwoman series of TV films.
Prior to fame, she studied fine arts and philosophy at the University of Melbourne and was also captain of a team on the television quiz show It’s Academic during year 10. In addition to her successful career in acting and comedy, Szubanski has ventured into musical theater beginning in 2007. Notably, she released a memoir called Reckoning in 2015.
Szubanski’s talent has been recognized with multiple Most Popular Comedy Personality Logie Awards from 1991 to 1996. She comes from a family with two siblings raised by parents Zbigniew and Margaret Szubanski.
