About Lynne Cheney
Lynne Cheney, born on August 14, 1941 in Casper, Wyoming, is an author and historian best known for her role as the wife of former United States Vice President Dick Cheney. She has co-authored several books including Executive Privilege (1979), Academic Freedom (1992), and America: A Patriotic Primer (2002). Before gaining fame through her marriage to Dick Cheney, Lynne served as Chairwoman of the National Endowment for the Humanities from 1986 to 1993 and later founded the American Council of Trustees and Alumni in 1995. Notably, her husband Dick served as Vice President under U.S. President George W. Bush.
On a personal note, Lynne was raised Presbyterian but joined the Methodist denomination upon marrying Dick Cheney. Together they have two daughters: Elizabeth and Mary.
