About Lynn Johnston
Lynn Johnston, born on May 28, 1947 in Canada, is a renowned cartoonist best known for her widely popular comic strip For Better or For Worse. Her work has received numerous awards and often reflects personal stories and impressions from her childhood in Lynn Lake, Manitoba.
Before gaining recognition as a cartoonist, Johnston was raised in British Columbia after being born in Ontario. She received her artistic training at the Vancouver School of Art before working as a medical artist at McMaster University for several years.
In addition to her successful career, she made history by becoming the first female and Canadian recipient of the Reuben Award presented by the National Cartoonist Society. Personally, she was married twice and had two children named Katie and Aaron before separating from her second husband, Rod Johnston, in 2007.
