Lynda Carter, born on July 24, 1951 in Phoenix, Arizona, is a prominent TV actress best known for her portrayal of Wonder Woman, TV’s first female superhero, from 1975 to 1979. Before her acting career took off, she won the local beauty contest and went on to become Miss World USA. Interestingly, she tried out for the role of Captain Kathryn Janeway on the TV series Star Trek: Voyager.
Carter married Robert A. Altman in 1984 and they had two children together – their son James in 1988 and daughter Jessica in 1990. Prior to this marriage, she was married to Ron Samuels from 1977 until their divorce in 1982.
