About Lyn Hejinian
Lyn Hejinian is an American poet, publisher, author, and translator who was born on May 17, 1941 in California. She is best known for her 1980 work entitled “My Life” and a collection of essays called “The Language of Inquiry,” which was published in 2000.
Before gaining recognition as a poet, Hejinian served as the editor of Tuumba Press during the 1970s and early 1980s. She also translated the Russian poetic work of Arkadii Dragomoshchenko.
Hejinian grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and later married Larry Ochs, a musician and composer.
