Lydia Ko, born on April 24, 1997 in Seoul, South Korea, is a professional golfer known for being the world’s youngest LPGA tour winner. She made history by clinching the Women’s Open at age 15 in Ienbee Park, Canada. In February 2015, she secured the top ranking among professional golfers at just 17 years old.
Ko began playing golf at the age of five and has since achieved numerous accolades. Notably, her glove from the final round at Ienbee Park is displayed at the World Golf Hall of Fame. At age 18, she became the youngest woman to win a major championship.
Originally from South Korea, Ko moved with her family to New Zealand when she was six years old. Her parents are Hyeon Bong-sook and Ko Gil-hong.
