Lupe Ontiveros was born on September 17, 1942, in El Paso, Texas. She was a prominent movie actress best known for her role as Yolanda Saldivar in the 1997 film “Selena” and earned an Emmy Award nomination for her performance on the hit television show “Desperate Housewives.” Prior to achieving fame in Hollywood, she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in social work from Texas Woman’s University.
In addition to her notable roles, Ontiveros also portrayed the character Rosalita in the beloved 1985 cult classic “The Goonies.” Throughout her life, she was married to Elias Ontiveros from 1966 until her passing in 2012, and they were blessed with three children.
