About Luisa Sobral
Luisa Sobral, born on September 18, 1987 in Lisbon, Portugal, is a world music singer and songwriter. She gained international recognition for composing the winning song “Amar pelos dois” at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, performed by her brother Salvador Sobral.
Before rising to fame, she auditioned for the first season of Idolos at sixteen and later graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2009. In 2011, she released her debut album “The Cherry on My Cake,” followed by two more albums before releasing her self-titled album in November 2016.
Born and raised in Lisbon with a portion of her childhood spent living in the United States, Luisa has one child.
