About Lucy McBath
Lucy McBath (born June 1, 1960) is an American politician known for representing Georgia’s 6th congressional district in the House of Representatives as a member of the Democratic Party. Prior to her career in politics, she attended Virginia State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science. After working as a flight attendant for Delta Air Lines, McBath tragically lost her son to gun violence which prompted her activism on gun control. She became involved with groups such as Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and commenced her political career by supporting Hillary Clinton‘s campaign in 2016.
In addition to being a vocal advocate for gun control, McBath appeared in the documentary “3 1/2 Minutes, 10 Bullets” (2015), which explored the tragic death of her son Jordan Davis due to gun violence.
McBath is married to Curtis McBath and has two children.
