In February 2021, just days before her 117th birthday, she made headlines for surviving COVID-19 without developing any symptoms after testing positive for the virus on January 16. Born Lucile Randon, she took the name Sister Andre in 1944 and has since been known by that name.
When asked if she was scared of having COVID-19, she responded with remarkable calmness stating that she wasn’t afraid to Die. She is known to enjoy chocolate and wine.
