About Lucia Aniello
Lucia Aniello (born January 10, 1983) is an Italian-born director, writer, and producer best known for her work on the Comedy Central series Broad City and the 2017 feature film Rough Night. She graduated from Columbia University before launching her career in comedy improv classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade. In 2007, she founded her production company Paulilu Productions.
Aniello has received numerous awards for her directing and writing, including the “Best of NY Sketch” award at the New York Comedy Festival in 2010. Born in Italy but raised in Hadley, Massachusetts, she married actor Paul W Downs—her sketch partner—in 2021. The couple met at Upright Citizens Brigade in 2007.
