About Luba Goy
Luba Goy (born November 8, 1945 in Haltern am See, Germany) is a Canadian comedian best known for her work with the ‘Royal Canadian Air Farce’, a renowned comedy troupe famous for their radio and television series. She has become one of Canada’s most notable Ukrainian entertainers, having won 15 ACTRA awards, a Juno award, and received recognition as part of the MacLean’s Honour Roll. Furthermore, she was among the first Canadians to be inducted into the International Humour Hall of Fame.
Prior to her rise to fame, Goy attended the National Theatre School of Canada and performed in theatre productions across Ontario. She is fluent in Ukrainian and has also appeared in film roles such as an 18th-century innkeeper in the Ukrainian film Vid’ma which was filmed in Kiev.
Goy had one son before divorcing her husband.
