About Louise Fitzhugh
Louise Fitzhugh (born October 5, 1928 in Tennessee) is an American children’s author best known for her popular story “Harriet the Spy,” published in 1964 along with its sequels, “The Long Secret,” “Sport,” and “Nobody’s Family is Going to Change.”
Before becoming a renowned author, Fitzhugh was actively involved in politics at Bard College and eventually graduated from Barnard College in 1951.
Throughout her career, she has received numerous accolades for her writing, including the Sequoyah Book Award in 1967. Raised by her wealthy father following her parents’ divorce when she was just an infant, Louise Fitzhugh left a lasting impact on children’s literature through her timeless creations.
