Lorraine Day (born July 24, 1937) is a non-fiction author and former physician known for advocating controversial alternative cancer treatments. She was also a proponent of pre-surgical HIV testing.
Day gained attention in 1989 with her book “AIDS: What the Government Isn’t Telling You,” which detailed her decision to end her surgical career due to concerns about HIV risks in the medical profession.
She promoted an alternative-medicine theory based on ten steps that she claimed were revealed to her by God during her own battle with cancer.
Day is the mother of two sons and was married to former California congressman William Dannemeyer.
