Lorraine Baker (born May 4, 1964) is an English middle-distance runner from Ipswich, England. She represented Great Britain in the Olympics, competing in the 800m event. At the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics, she finished fifth and at the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics, she placed twelfth.
Before rising to Olympic prominence, Baker began her career by winning various titles including the AAAs National U15 800 meter title in 1978 and subsequently claiming the U17 title in both 1979 and 1980.
In addition to her Olympic performances, Baker secured bronze medals at both the Commonwealth Games in Edinburg (1986) and the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow (1990). Her fastest recorded time for the 800m race was a remarkable 2:00.3 during her performance at the Los Angeles Summer Olympics.
Born into an athletic family in Ipswich, Suffolk, England; Lorraine Baker is also recognized as being the daughter of American-Scottish soccer player Gerry Baker.
