About Lori Graham Bakker
Lori Graham Bakker (born August 30, 1957) is an American televangelist, author, and motivational speaker known for founding Lori’s House, an organization that offers assistance to pregnant women. She also founded the Mourning to Joy Ministry aimed at helping women process post-abortion grief. Bakker has been a controversial figure due to her advocacy for aborted fetuses and memorial services she has held in their honor.
Prior to her religious work, Bakker’s early life was marked by drug addiction and five abortions stemming from unwanted pregnancies. In 1985, she left her first husband after ten years of marriage due to abuse. This tumultuous past led her on a path towards religious transformation, culminating in the receipt of ministerial credentials in 1991.
Together with her husband Jim Bakker, Lori launched their television ministry in 2003 and embarked on religious missions to El Salvador and Mexico. In addition to her faith-based work, she published “More Than I Could Ever Ask” in 2000 detailing aspects of her marriage and spiritual journey.
Bakker has made media appearances on The Larry King Show, The Today Show, and Good Morning America where she shared insights into both personal experiences and religious beliefs.
