About Lola Ridge
Lola Ridge (born December 12, 1873) was an Irish-born poet known for her work as a feminist and anarchist. She gained recognition for poetry collections like “The Ghetto” (1918) and “Sun-Up” (1920), with later works including “Firehead” and “Dance of Fire.” Born in Dublin, Ireland, Ridge spent her early years in Australia and New Zealand before relocating to San Francisco, California in 1907.
Ridge married David Laws in 1919 and later received the Shelley Memorial Award in 1936. Her highly political collection titled “Red Flag” was published around the same time.
