About Liz Ellis
Liz Ellis (born January 17, 1973) is a former Australian netball player known for her successful career with the Sydney Swifts in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy and as captain of the Australian national team. She achieved World Champion status in netball in 1995, 1999, and 2007.
Prior to her illustrious professional career, Ellis attended the Australian Institute of Sport on scholarship from 1991 to 1992. Her dedication to the sport led to her setting a record for most games played in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy with a total of 173 matches.
Ellis’s contributions to netball were recognized when she was inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women in 2006. Her influence goes beyond sports as she has amassed over 50,000 followers on Instagram. In September 2011, she welcomed her first child, Evelyn Audrey Stocks.
