About Liv Stone
Liv Stone (born January 31, 2003) is a para surfer from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Despite being born with a congenital, bilateral, above-elbow amputation, she has not allowed this condition to limit her athletic abilities and dreams.
Stone’s athleticism and inspiring attitude have garnered attention in various publications including Forbes, SurfGirl Magazine, The Inertia, and American Surf Magazine. She made history by earning the Gold Medal at the ISA World Para Surfing Championship in the Stand 1 division for three consecutive years from 2020 to 2022.
Prior to gaining recognition as a champion para surfer, Liv Stone was involved in various sports during her childhood such as soccer, rifle shooting, and field hockey. Her passion for surfing was ignited after attending a surf clinic organized by the Challenge Athletes Foundation.
In addition to her achievements in surfing, Liv Stone also contributed to conservation efforts in South Africa by assisting Nature Conservation Doctoral Candidate Jade Harris on her PhD study about fencing lions. During this period she spent several months at Marataba Camps recording data on lion prides and participating in animal interventions while documenting various species like rhinoceroses and giraffes.
