About Lisa McGee
Lisa McGee is an award-winning television writer born on August 17, 1980, in Derry, Northern Ireland. She is best known for her work on the comedy series Derry Girls and has also achieved recognition for her contributions to shows like Raw and The Deceived. Throughout her career, she has taken on roles as a show producer.
Before entering the television and film industry, McGee pursued her education at Thornhill College in Derry before enrolling at Queen’s University Belfast.
Since beginning her screenwriting career in 2012, McGee has received multiple awards. Notably, she was honored with the Best Comedy Writing on Television award at the 2018 British Screenwriters’ Awards ceremony for her work on Derry Girls.
Growing up in Derry, Northern Ireland with her family, Lisa McGhee is now married to English writer and actor Tobias Beer.
