Lisa Edelstein is an American television actress best known for her portrayal of Dr. Lisa Cuddy on the popular medical drama series House M.D. and as Abby McCarthy in Bravo’s Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce. Born on May 21, 1966, in Boston, Massachusetts, she attended NYU Tisch School of the Arts before achieving success in the entertainment industry.
Prior to her acting career taking off, Edelstein became heavily involved in the club scene during her college years and gained a reputation as “Queen of Downtown.” In addition to her TV roles, she has also appeared in various films such as What Women Want, As Good as It Gets, Daddy Day Care, and Keeping the Faith. Not only has she excelled on screen but Edelstein has also written, composed and performed in the musical “Positive Me” at Ellen Stuart’s La Mama Theatre in Manhattan.
Besides her work in entertainment, Edelstein is recognized for creating a drama-comedy pilot based on the book “Confessions of a Sociopath” by M.E. Thomas. Her personal life includes being married to Robert Russell since 2014 and having two older siblings with parents Alvin and Bonnie Edelstein.
