Lionel Shriver is an American journalist and author, born on May 18, 1957 in North Carolina. She is best known for her novels including We Need to Talk About Kevin and The Post-Birthday World.
Before gaining fame as a novelist, Shriver taught metal-smithing at Buck’s Rock Performing and Creative Arts Camp in New Milford, Connecticut.
In 2005, she was awarded the prestigious Orange Prize for her literary work.
Shriver currently resides with her husband Jeff Williams, who is a jazz drummer.
