Lindy West, born on March 9, 1982 in the United States, is an American writer, comedian and activist. She gained recognition for her collection of essays “Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman” and has been a regular columnist for The New York Times.
West began her career as an editor for the Seattle-based alternative newspaper The Stranger before relocating to Los Angeles in 2011. Her work has been featured in various publications including The Daily Telegraph, GQ, Vulture and The Guardian.
West was raised in Seattle, Washington and married fellow writer Ahamefule J. Oluo in July of 2015.
