Linda Sanchez is a politician born on January 28, 1969 in California. She served as a Democrat representing California’s 39th district in the US House of Representatives from 2003 to 2013. Throughout her career, she has been an advocate for pro-choice and LGBT rights.
Sanchez earned her law degree from the UCLA School of Law in 1995 where she was also an editor of the Chicano-Latino Law Review. Notably, she introduced the Megan Meier Cyberbullying Prevention Act which aimed to criminalize electronic communications intended to coerce, intimidate, harass or cause emotional distress.
She was raised by Mexican immigrant parents and has six siblings. Linda Sanchez is married to Jim Sullivan.
