Linda Lee Thomas was born on November 17, 1883, in Kentucky. She is known for her role as the wife of legendary songwriter Cole Porter. Their marriage lasted over three decades before ending in divorce in 1912.
Before fame, Linda met Cole Porter at a high society wedding banquet and their relationship blossomed from there. While living in France, she and Cole were neighbors of philosopher Pierre Teilhard de Chardin.
She was born into a politically prominent family as the daughter of Lilly Hill and financier William Paca Lee.
