Linda Goodman, born on April 9, 1925 in West Virginia, was a renowned non-fiction author best known for her influential astrology book “Linda Goodman’s Sun Signs,” which became a bestseller in 1968. She also authored other popular works such as “Linda Goodman’s Love Poems,” “Linda Goodman’s Love Signs,” and “Linda Goodman’s Star Signs.”
Before gaining fame as an author, Linda began her career under the name Mary Alice Kemery and later assumed the professional moniker of “Linda” while hosting a radio program called Love Letters from Linda in West Virginia during the 1940s.
An interesting fact about Linda is that her debut work, “Linda Goodman’s Sun Signs,” was the first astrology-themed publication to achieve New York Times bestselling status.
Linda had children from two marriages – with her first husband William Snyder she had Bill and Sally, and with her second husband Sam Goodman she had Jill and Michael.
