About Linda Creed
Linda Creed (December 6, 1948 – April 10, 1986) was a renowned American songwriter and lyricist known for her work on hit songs such as “Stop, Look, Listen”, “Break Up to Make Up”, and “The Greatest Love of All”. Born in Pennsylvania, Creed initially worked as a secretary at a publishing company before finding success in the music industry. Her career took off when Dusty Springfield recorded her song “Free Girl” in 1970.
Creed is best known for her collaboration with the Spinners, for whom she wrote many hits. In 1992, she was posthumously inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. She married Stephen Lee Epstein in 1972 and had two daughters with him.
