Lina Wertmuller, born on August 14, 1928 in Rome, Italy, is a renowned director. She is best known for her work on the 1976 film seven Beauties, which earned her the distinction of being the first woman to receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Director.
Before gaining recognition in the film industry, Wertmuller toured Europe with a puppet show as her first job. In 1979, she achieved a Guinness World Record for creating the longest film title, with a staggering 179 characters. On a personal note, she was married to art designer Enrico Job until his passing in 2008.
