Laurie represented South Africa at the Miss World 2015 pageant and achieved a top 10 finish, earning her the title of Continental Queen of Africa. This placed her higher than any other African model in the competition.
Prior to her pageant success, she had to win the Miss South Africa pageant in 2015 to qualify for Miss World.
