Lia Samantha, born on April 10, 1981 in Bogota, Colombia, is a pop singer and fashion designer. She gained recognition for her work in reggae and rap music genres. Additionally, she has made a name for herself in the fashion industry by participating in events like African Fashion Week in Amsterdam, the Colombia Trade Expo International, and Moscow Fashion Week.
Before pursuing a career as an artist and designer, Lia Samantha’s passion for music began at age 11 when she formed a rap group with her cousin. At fifteen years old, she established Familia Ayara – the first rap based clothing label in Colombia. In 2005, she founded the reggae band Voodoo Souljahs before launching her own brand Lia Samantha in 2009.
In 2013 after releasing her collection Everyday Afro, Lia Samantha was chosen to partake in the National Beauty Contest. She hails from Bogota where she was born and raised.
