Leslie Jones, born September 7, 1967 in Memphis, Tennessee, is a well-known comedian famous for her work on Saturday Night Live. In 2015 she was nominated for a Writers Guild of America Award. She has appeared in comedic films such as Lottery Ticket (2010) and Top Five (2014), and was cast in the 2016 reboot Ghostbusters.
Before finding success as a comedian and actress, Jones played on basketball teams at Chapman University and Colorado State University while working as a DJ for Chapman’s radio station. Her pursuit of comedy began after winning a campus comedy contest. Notably, she appeared in the mockumentary Gangsta Rap: The Glockumentary (2007) and had a small role in Trainwreck (2015).
