About Leigh Sales
Leigh Sales (born May 10, 1973) is an Australian journalist, television host, and author. She is best known for her work as the host of the ABC news program 7.30, as well as hosting the popular podcast Chat 10 Looks 3. Sales has also authored the books “On Doubt” and “Detainee 002“.
Prior to her fame, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Queensland University of Technology and a Masters in International Relations from Deakin University. She began her career at Nine Network before joining ABC Brisbane in 1995, gaining attention for her coverage of the 2000 Summer Olympics.
Sales has been recognized with several awards for her journalism, including a Walkley Award for Broadcasting and Online Interviewing in 2012. She also received the George Munster Award for Independent Journalism for her work on Detainee 002 in 2007.
In personal life, Sales is married to Phil Willis with whom she shares two children.
