About Layla Benitez
Layla Benitez is an Afro House DJ and producer from New York City, known for her skillful blending of classic and cutting-edge melodies. She has performed at prestigious events such as the Tribeca Film Festival, Coachella, Miami Music Week, and Art Basel.
Before gaining recognition as a DJ, Layla Benitez received classical training in piano and graduated from Parsons School of Design. She initially began DJing casually for friends at local parties.
In 2017 to 2019, she served as the resident DJ of Good Behavior’s Dreamland at the Made Hotel in New York. Furthermore, Layla was honored with the title of DJ Mag Top 100 DJs 2022 Future Star winner.
Adding to her international acclaim, Layla spent the summer of 2019 as a resident DJ at Sommer Klein in Alacati, Turkey while touring Europe and The Middle East. One notable highlight includes her performance at iii Points x Secret Project in Los Angeles in 2021 which she described as one of her craziest parties.
Hailing from Puerto Rican and British heritage, Layla comes from a musical background—her father being renowned producer and DJ Jellybean Benitez. By May 2023, her Spotify channel had built a following of more than 20,000 monthly listeners—a testament to her growing popularity among music enthusiasts globally.
