Laurika Rauch (born November 1, 1950) is a South African folk singer known for her work in Afrikaans and English. She gained acclaim for her 1979 single “Kinders van Die Wind (Children of the Wind).”
Rauch began training as a pianist and singer at the young age of five. In 1997, she became the first winner to receive the South African Academy for Arts and Science’s Medal of Honor.
In 1984, she married Christopher Torr with whom she shares two children; a son named Simon and a daughter named Nina.
