Laurie Penny is a feminist journalist from London, England. She was born on September 28, 1986. Penny has contributed to the Guardian and the New Statesman and published her first book, Meat Market: Female Flesh Under Capitalism in 2011.
Before her rise to fame as a writer and commentator, she graduated with an English degree from Wadham College, Oxford in 2008. Laurie launched her blog Penny Red in 2007 and has made appearances on 10 O’Clock Live and BBC Two’s Newsnight.
