Laurence Basse (born October 20, 1974) is a French fashion designer known for her appearance as a contestant on Project Runway. After gaining recognition on the show, she launched her eponymous fashion label, Laurence Basse, which focuses on detail and structure in its designs.
Prior to her career in fashion design, Basse spent 15 years working as a professional model before relocating from Paris to New York City at the age of 22 to pursue studies in design.
Born and raised in Paris, France, Basse attended the Elisa Lemonnier School for The Art where she first recognized her potential as a designer at the age of ten.
