About Lauren Oliver
Lauren Oliver, born on November 8, 1982, in Queens, New York, is a well-known Young Adult Author. She gained popularity for her standalone work Before I Fall and the Delirium young adult fiction trilogy. Her other notable works include Vanishing Girls and Rooms.
Oliver graduated from the University of Chicago with degrees in philosophy and literature before pursuing a Master of Fine Arts program in Creative Writing at New York University. After completing her studies, she worked for Penguin Books’ Razorbill young adult department.
In addition to her writing career, she co-founded a literary agency named Paper Lantern Lit alongside Lexa Hillyer. Born Laura Suzanne Schechter, she was raised in Westchester, New York as the daughter of crime writer and English professor Harold Schechter. In 2016, she married John E. Parker.
