About Lauren Mayberry
Lauren Mayberry was born on October 7, 1987, in Thornhill, Scotland. She is best known as the lead singer of the technopop band Chvrches and has also recorded singles and EPs with Blue Sky Archives and Boyfriend/Girlfriend. Chvrches’ debut album, The Bones of What You Believe, was released in late 2013.
Prior to her music career, Mayberry studied at the University of Strathclyde in Scotland where she earned a bachelor’s degree in law and a master’s degree in journalism. During that time, she performed as a keyboardist and drummer for various local bands.
In addition to her musical endeavors, Mayberry founded TYCI – a feminist organization based in Glasgow. Born in Thornhill, Stirling, Scotland, she later lived and worked in Glasgow.
