Lauren Manning (born January 1, 1961) is an American non-fiction author and businesswoman. She gained widespread recognition as a survivor of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks, where she sustained extensive burns covering 82.5 percent of her body after arriving at 1 World Trade Center at 8:46 am.
Prior to the attacks, Manning worked as a Wall Street executive at Cantor Fitzgerald. Her remarkable story of resilience and recovery led to the publication of her New York Times best-selling memoir, Unmeasured Strength, in 2011.
Manning spent over six months in the hospital following the tragedy. Her harrowing experience and subsequent accomplishments have been an inspiration to many. She has been candid about her journey towards healing and reconciliation with life’s adversities.
She is also recognized for her dedication to family; Manning has two sons named Tyler and Jagger alongside her husband Greg.
In addition to her literary work, Manning remains an advocate for fellow burn victims and continues to share her powerful message through public speaking engagements around the world.
