Lauren Lavoie, born on July 15, 1991 in Canada, is a pre-service arts education teacher and social media personality best known for her viral Vine video titled “I tapped the breaks.” Alongside her sister Joanne, Lauren began creating and sharing Vine videos approximately a year prior to the release of their breakout hit in June of 2014.

Despite initially underestimating the impact of “I tapped the breaks,” which sat on her phone for three days before being uploaded, it quickly garnered almost 100,000 likes within 24 hours and was featured on Tosh.0. The sisters hail from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
