Laura Izumikawa, born on April 3, 1983, is a Japanese-born photographer known for creating an Instagram feed featuring her sleeping infant daughter dressed in costumes. Her account gained widespread attention when Netflix posted a picture of her daughter dressed as Barb from Stranger Things. In 2017, she published a book titled “Naptime with Joey” and has since garnered over 500,000 followers on her lauraiz Instagram account.

Before her rise to fame as a photographer, Izumikawa attended law school and discovered her passion for photography after visiting Rwanda in 2007. She worked as a lifestyle and wedding photographer in Southern California before gaining recognition through unique portraits of her daughter taken with just an iPhone.
