About Laura Hickman
Laura Hickman, born on December 7, 1956 in Long Beach, California, is a fantasy novelist and game designer. She co-created the Dragonlance game with her husband and wrote Knights of the Red Band. In addition to her fiction work, she also published a nonfiction book titled Baking Outside the Box.
Before gaining fame as a novelist and game designer, Laura grew up in Southern California and Utah. It was during her time at Farrer Junior High School in Provo, Utah where she met Tracy Hickman who would later become her husband.
An interesting fact about Laura is that she contributed to the development of the popular game Dungeons & Dragons during the 1980s.
In 1977, Laura married Tracy Hickman after meeting him in their youth. The couple are active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have four children.
