Laura Branigan, born on July 3, 1952 in New York, was a pop singer most well known for her early 1980s Platinum single “Gloria.” Additionally, she gained fame with hit songs such as “Solitaire” and “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You,” and was featured on the soundtracks of Ghostbusters, Flashdance, and Baywatch. Before breaking out as a solo artist in 1982 with her self-titled debut album, Branigan was part of the band Meadow and worked as a backing vocalist for Leonard Cohen.
