Lady Leshurr, born Melesha O’Garro on December 15, 1987, in Solihull, England is an English rapper and singer. She gained recognition for her “Queen’s Speech” series of songs and videos and has been praised for her critically acclaimed mixtapes. Lady Leshurr won Best Female at the 2011 Official Mixtape Awards.
Before rising to fame, she was born in Kingshurst, Solihull, Birmingham and started writing poetry at just six years old. At the age of 14, she released her first mixtape. In addition to her solo work, Lady Leshurr collaborated with the electronic dance duo Orbital on their track “Wonky”. She also portrayed a lead role in the 2009 British crime drama 1 Day.
Lady Leshurr’s mother was a fan of reggae music which gave inspiration to her daughter’s love for music from an early age.
