Kristy Kowal is an American Olympic swimmer born on October 9, 1978, in Reading, Pennsylvania. She is best known for competing in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and winning the silver medal in the 200 meter breaststroke event.

Prior to her Olympic success, Kowal attended the University of Georgia where she was a member of the university’s swim team. Known for her incredible strength and technique in the pool, Kowal’s feet played a crucial role in powering her through the water with precision.
