About Kristina Lugn
Kristina Lugn, born on November 14th, 1948 in Sweden, is a celebrated poet known for her poetry collections including Hundstunden (The Dog Hour) and Om Ni Hor Ett Skott (If You Hear A Gun Shot). She is also recognized for her plays such as Silver Star and De Trostlosa (The Inconsolable), while concurrently serving as the director of Teater Brunnsgatan Fyra, a Stockholm-based theatre company.
Prior to gaining recognition for her work, Kristina Lugn published her first volume of poetry titled Om Jag Inte in 1972. It wasn’t until fifteen years later that her earliest play Nar Det Utbrot Panik i det Kollektiva Omedvetna debuted. Her impressive body of work has been performed at esteemed venues including the Stockholm City Theatre and the Swedish Royal Dramatic Theatre.
Despite being born in Tierp, Uppland, Sweden, Kristina grew up primarily in Skovde, Vastergotland.
